Plastic surgeon Dr. William Riley has served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital and the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, as well as Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He has also served as Chief of Surgery at Memorial Hermann Fort Bend Hospital and currently holds the position of Chief of Medical Officer at that facility.
While developing a successful, private cosmetic plastic practice, Dr. Riley has also provided extensive service to his community and is the founder of Operation Rainbow, a non-profit organization that provides free reconstructive plastic surgery to indigent children throughout the world. Dr. Riley developed a special interest in reconstructive surgery for children, particularly cleft lip and palate deformities, after witnessing the dire need for reconstructive surgery in many indigent children in the Philippines. Since 1978, more than 7,000 children have received new faces through these humanitarian efforts. He derives tremendous personal satisfaction from impacting the lives of children and their families and attributes his ability to empathize with his patients to this unique experience.
A member of 26 professional societies, Dr. Riley has chaired several regional and national committees on plastic surgery policy and education. In addition, he has served as a Delegate to the American Medical Association and has authored numerous scientific articles and edited a book on plastic surgery.
