What should I expect after abdominoplasty surgery?

What is the best sleeping position following abdominoplasty?
Patients are encouraged to lie on their back with knees and head elevated for a period of time to encourage healing. Dr. Riley recommends you wait a few weeks to sleep on the stomach.

When can I resume an exercising routine and work duties?
Light activities like walking can be resumed immediately after surgery. Cardio routines and toning exercises can be resumed usually in three weeks, per Dr. Riley's recommendation. Heavy lifting and other strenuous exercises should not be attempted for about a month. Most patients with office or other light activity jobs are able to return to work in two weeks. Patients with high activity jobs may need to wait longer.
