Arm Lift in Sugar Land, TX

Dr. David Stapenhorst of Signature Plastic Surgery offers Arm Lift surgery, or brachioplasty, to the residents of Sugar Land, Texas, and Houston, Texas. Loose skin on the upper arms can be unattractive and cause a person to avoid showing the upper arms. Some patients struggle with toning their upper arms, while others have succeeded at losing significant weight, only to be left with excess skin hanging from their arms. Dr. Stapenhorst recommends the Arm Lift procedure to reshape the area between the elbow and shoulder, resulting in a more toned appearance.

The Arm Lift procedure typically takes two to four hours.

When can normal activities resume after the Arm Lift procedure?

Dr. Stapenhorst requires his patients to rest after the procedure. The initial recovery phase is 10 to 14 days, and activities must be limited. The arms must not be subjected to excessive force or motion. Patients are required to wear compression bandages for six weeks. The scars will fully mature in one year.

Is there any pain associated with the Arm Lift procedure?

During the initial recovery phase, the arms will be swollen and patients will experience post-operative discomfort, for which Dr. Stapenhorst will prescribe pain medication. The pain typically begins to improve after five to seven days and most patients go back to work in about two weeks.
